President Tan Zhenhui Visited Schools and Inspected the Preparation for the Evaluation

The university inspected the test papers and the graduation designs (dissertations) of School of Humanities and Social Science, School of Science, School of Computer and Information Technology, School of Electronics and Information Engineering and School of Mechanical, Electronic and Control Engineering on the afternoon of October,17th. After the conference of Department of Railways, President Tan Zhenhui hurried to the scene and carried out the inspection himself.
Other leaders participating the inspection included Du Yongping, Vice Director of Office of the Dean of Study, Hou Yongfeng, Vice Director of Office of the Dean of Study, Qu Bo, Deputy Director of Office of Evaluation, Wei Wangqiang from Office of the Dean of Study and Chang Dan from Office of Evaluation.
The leaders paid attention to the preparation of the test papers and the graduation designs (dissertations). The university had clear requirement about the preparation, for it was a fundamental and important work in undergraduate education, and it was essential but easily amiss in the evaluation. Generally speaking, all Schools took great strides in the preparation. The material organization evidently became more standardized. For example, School of Mechanical, Electronic and Control Engineering had clear contents for all original test papers; the specialty of law in School of Humanities and Social Science had all their test papers and school report cards with attendance scores, end results and total results; School of Computer and Information Technology classified and arranged the graduation designs (dissertations) again for convenient searches.
President Tan indicated that the emphasis of undergraduate education should lie on the improvement of teaching quality and teaching management. Meanwhile, he said that, looking upon the evaluation as an opportunity, the university should make a further summary and set down a good plan for future development of undergraduate education and teaching reform. President Tan also pointed out that the development of subjects tended towards integration and all relevant departments should study more for mutual complementation and integration of subjects to strengthen the undergraduate education.
