Five Students on the Championship List of Our University

The championship list ceremony and pep rally of the sports delegation of BJTU were held in the gymnasium on October 19th. Vice Chairman of the University Council, Yan Wuer, and relevant leaders of Office of the dean of study, Office of enrollment, Office of students and School of humanities and social science attended the ceremony too. The teacher named Liu Maohui Presided over the ceremony.
As members of the badminton team in our university, the five students who were recorded in the championship list won six golden medals in the 22nd Baltic University Games of 2006. They are Li Kesong, man’s singles championship of group B, Chen Chao, both women’s singles championship and women’s doubles championship of group B, Peng Manli, both women’s double championship and mixed doubles championship of group A, Wang Wenxiao, women’s doubles championship of group A, and Mao Yuxin, mixed doubles championship of group B. Their coaches are Wu Ling, Lin Liwen, and Yan Wuer.
The athlete representative Peng Manli and the coach representative Liu Di addressed in the ceremony. They hoped that on the basis of the achievements, the athletes and coaches could find out more effective training methods and strive to won glory for the university again in future.
Vice Chairman Yan Wuer spoke high of the efforts made by the athletes and coaches in concluding remarks. He also encouraged all the athletes to have confidence, study assiduously and train hard.
After the ceremony, the five athletes and the leaders of university and schools were taken photos.
The five students in the championship list performed well and set good examples for other athletes of our university. We sincerely hope that the sports delegation of BJTU will scale to new heights despite difficulties.
